Shit Is Going Down.. In The Toilet.... Cuz' I'm Pooping Right Now.

Wow.. So it's been a little over a month since my previous blog. Back then, that was my second day living at my sisters, which at the time was difficult to adjust to, but now I'm pretty much used to my new temporary lifestyle here.

Lets see, where to begin... Well, not too long after that last post, I received a voice mail while I was at work and the funny thing was that when my phone was ringing and I didn't recognize the number, I easily pressed the F-U button because I assumed it was one of my loans trying to reach me. Whenever I receive a call from an unknown number, I ALWAYS assume it's the loan sharks. I'm sure those who owe student loans do the same thing. But fortunately, it was actually a job recruiter whom I've sent my resume to way back in May. So I spoke with her and set up an interview with her (who happened to be VERY pretty) and it went very well. She wanted to learn more about me and my background and also what my focuses are in my field of work. And when I had left, I was already feeling good just from that interview and suddenly, 10 minutes after I had left the office, I get a call from my recruiter saying how she had found a freelance job for me and we immediately scheduled a job interview. So that was great. Finally, the day of the interview came and needless to say I was nervous as shit. Overall, the interview went well although there were two minor mistakes that were discovered by the interviewer.. The first mistake was one of my characters had a misspelled word in it "Deficiency" but instead I had it as "Deficeincy" and the second mistake was within my resume. But in my opinion, I felt it was just a simple mistake, the word that I meant to use was "palette" as in "color palette", but instead I chose "pallet" from the Spell Check when I had spelled the word wrong in the first place. So I thought it was an easy mistake to overlook, of course, I should have looked it over a couple of times and even resend it to my recruiter but I can't remember what my mind set was at during that time, I was probably just really nervous and excited then. But when the interviewer had pointed out those two mistakes, I repeatedly apologized and he was saying it was alright and that he's usually a stickler when it comes to spelling errors so I didn't really think it would effect my chances. But then, when my recruiter called me and told me why it didn't work out, it was because of that. And I was really disappointed because he kept pointing out things that he liked with my work so, that was that.

And ever since, I've just been job searching online on like four different job sites, which three of them email me job alerts practically every day, which is why Zombified fell back into hiatus. But many of you have seen, Zombified is back up and running again with its own Facebook page! And I am currently working on Series 3 again, which I'm really stoked about. It is VERY IMPORTANT that I receive as many clients and sell as many Zombies as much as possible because I really REALLY need to start saving up for rent for my own place. I only have until February, which is when my parents are coming back to visit and I am currently occupying their room.. And time is definitely running out. All I've really been doing with my paychecks is paying back my loans and using the rest to get by until next payday. The good thing is, I finally getting back to being current with my loans so then I'll be back to paying once a month again. But like I was saying before, it's really important that I gather as many clients as possible, which is why I'm really counting on you guys to spread the word about Zombified, spread that shit like.. like a Zombie outbreak. And you guys have been doing really well too, I just need you guys to keep up the good work!

But yeah, my new Facebook page, Zombified By Gerald Terado, has all the information on how you can be added to my client list, contains all my contact info, my rates, and how payment transactions are done. All you have to do is go to the "About" section and it's all outlined there for ya. For any other questions, just reach me by either phone, FB, or email at anytime and I mean ANYTIME.

What else...

Oh, so now I'm 26 years old, many of you know, yesterday was my birthday and I had such a wonderful birthday weekend thanks to my girlfriend. She got me some awesome gifts. If you haven't seen them, she got me a nice warm fuzzy blanket and three T-shirts and ... All Zombie related. Lol

So that was awesome. And the night before that, my friends' band, SCIENCE, was performing at some little art studio/gallery venue in Boonton, which they kicked ass. It was my first time seeing them perform live and it was just awesome, great energy and they definitely had the crowd going. I've said it before on Facebook, but DEFINITELY CHECK THEM OUT IF YOU HAVEN'T ALREADY. They're so good and I got a rad T-shirt from them also.

It was kinda funny being there, though, because it's been a few years since I've been in that scene, and I had forgotten what it was like being surrounded by a bunch of young emo kids. But I'm that I went because I got to see my friends play along with some other great bands and I met with one of the people that sorta runs that venue and I'm trying to get my Zombified work displayed there. They're going to start a "First Friday" type of event every month and I'm definitely trying to get on that, which I'm probably going to hit up their email later tonight.

So that's pretty much it, honestly. It's only been about month since my last post but it feels so much longer than that. I thought I'd have more updates for ya but then again, all I've been really doing is working, resting, job searching, and seeing my girlfriend on weekends, which I'm beginning to cope with again because it's keeping things fresh. So yeah, that's about it.

DON'T HESITATE TO LIKE OR VISIT ZOMBIFIED BY "YOURS TRULY" ON FACEBOOK and DON'T BE SHY TO SAY HI!! Catch you all later! PEACE!!..... ::fart::

Day 2 In Another New Temporary Home

Hey Guys, how goes it? Me? Okay so far. For those who may not know, I recently moved out of my apartment in Newark and into my sister and bro-in-law's place in Belleville this past Saturday. Fortunately for Nicole, she is now working but has to commute from her mom's because it's closer to her there than here, so there goes my ride. So now because I no longer have a ride and don't want to fully depend on my friend at work, I am now sharing my sister's car and while I'm living here with them, I am also trying to save up to officially move out and to catch up on my loans. The one thing that really worries me is being able to save enough money while paying loans and my phone bill before my parents come back from the motherland to visit in February. So any time that I may seem depressed, it's most likely because of that and also the new living situation.

Don't get me wrong, I deeply appreciate what my family has done and is doing for me, but moving from my brother's apartment to my sister's has been a drastic change to the lifestyle. I mean, sadly the things that do get me down are sorta just little things but I dunno, in a way I need those little things to keep me together. Ever since, I moved out of Haskell, I've only been able to see my friends once a week, most of the time not even that, and I feel because I'm here it's gonna be even less than that because of certain activities. For most of my life, I've always had "gatherings" in my room, that was usually the chill spot but now I don't have that, this room I'm in is pretty damn small. And I dunno, it would just feel weird to occupy the living room, I guess because it's not my home really. But not having Nicole or my friends around, I feel like I almost have nothing. And again, I appreciate what my sister and her husband are doing for me and their hospitality but it's just kinda hard to adjust. So far I'm always home alone because they work all day and I have no car to go anywhere even for just a cruise. So I dunno, it just seems a lot to take in and adjust for me, it probably sounds really dumb to you, but whatevs.

Pretty much when it all comes down to it, I just gotta do what I gotta do, make some hard sacrifices and suck it up, I guess.

On a side note, I've decided to take ZOMBIFIED off hiatus being that Halloween is near so that's sort of my way of being festive and I am currently working on some stuff for Blazer Show so keep an eye out for those two things. Until then, I will catch you all on the flip side. See ya.

A Case of the AWESOMEDAYS

Hey Everyone! How's Everybody doin? Before I start, I just wanna welcome Everyone it's OFFICIALLY October! Fall is here and Halloween is near! A lot of things happening this month.

So let me start by re-announcing that ZOMBIFIED Series 2 is finally COMPLETED along with a new banner.

Check out my FB page if you haven't seen the rest of the Zombies, they're all there. If you don't have a FB, I have an online portfolio at Behance Network.

UPDATES

*Due to some upcoming plans ZOMBIFIED will be on hiatus but I will still be taking in new requests for Series 3

TRADEMARKING

So I've read the basics about trademarking and copyrighting, except I'm not savvy in that way so I'm definitely going to re-read them. But the idea is to trademark ZOMBIFIED as a brand name or small business. If anyone has any idea how to approach this in a simple, cheap, but safe way, please do tell.

FACEBOOK/WEBSITE

In one of my previous blogs I mentioned how I plan on making a separate FB account for ZOMBIFIED except I wanted to do it after the trademark is made. I guess for now, the more I learn about it, then I'll be able to decide when to make a ZOMBIFIED FB. Also, a friend of mine, Jess "Rambo" Ramsey, has made an awesome website for ZOMBIFIED which contains awesome features and even made it mobile! So I'm looking to purchase web space or maybe even ask my sister to help out.

PRICES/PAYMENTS

I've also mentioned how I will be charging my work differently. From now on, I will be charging $10/hr on an 8hr/day basis whether it's for a print or digital copy. I, also, wanna make it clear that I do put a lot of hours in each picture and that sometimes it actually does take a little longer than 8 hours but to keep it simple, my goal is to have each one done in 8. So since the prices are going up, I will not request the money upfront although the finish product won't be handed over or uploaded until payment is made. Of course, you are always free to contact me through here or FB for more details and if you would like to have my # just message me and I'd be happy to provide it.

ON OTHER NEWS

I will be moving again shortly with my sister and brother-in-law. Basically, because I'm struggling with rent and loans. So by doing this, this should allow me to catch up on loans and save up to move out with my girlfriend. This week she's starting her full-time job which will require me to bum a ride from my sis or co-worker because our work hours collide. That'll be fun.

And now that ZOMBIFIED is on hiatus, I will be dedicating my time for Blazer Show. So keep an eye out for that. I'm really disappointed that til this day I still haven't taken any opportunities to work on other animation projects. Hopefully this hiatus will change that. I'm also going to continue working on an illustration for my friend's band, Alice Practice, and for another friend's band, Science, which is perfect because Halloween is approaching, but definitely check out those two bands because they're pretty awesome.

I'm a little brain dead now so I'm hoping that's all the updates that I had in mind... I guess until something comes up, I'll see you all later! PEACE!!

Been A Long Time, My Bad

Hey Guys! How has Everyone been doing lately?? I know it's been awhile, so I apologize. I figured, I update my FB page practically daily so I didn't think a new blog was needed. Plus, I wanted my next post to be about the updates on the future of ZOMBIFIED. But it's been too long so that's why I'm writing one now.

So for ZOMBIFIED, I've been working on the last two of Series 2 and it's been taking a lot of time. Mostly because I had to go a step back a couple of times to get the poses right because each picture is dealing with two Zombies. And they dealt with some new poses that I haven't approached yet so it was a bit challenging and is one of the main reasons why it's been taking this long. After the outlines are done and the details are finalized everything else will go by a lot quicker.

Once those two are done, I plan on working on the new banner immediately, but it may not be up for awhile because I don't want it to be up until I move into the next phase which includes a NEW ZOMBIFIED FB.

I really don't have much else to say, everything else is really about the next phases for ZOMBIFIED so until Zombies #19 and 20 are done, I'll catch you all later! Thanks for swingin by! PEACE!!

Updated Thoughts About Updates

Hey Guys! So I know on Facebook, I mentioned about having a new blog posted up, but I kinda got lost in focus for the last two Zombies. Plus, it gave me more clarity on what I want to do for the next phases of ZOMBIFIED.

TRADEMARK
I am currently looking into trademarking ZOMBIFIED as a small business. I have a couple of links covering the basics of trademarking and copyrighting.

As some of you may know, I am currently working on Zombie #17, which is involving a couple. So I'm even closer to reaching #20! And you know what's next right? A new banner presenting Zombie #'s 11-20!! I'm pretty damn stoked, actually. And THEN, I am going to create a separate Facebook account for ZOMBIFIED alone, so that means I'm going to re-tag Everyone that I've ZOMBIFIED so far.

*For those who have been ZOMBIFIED, or haven't been but WANT to be, I would like to have your permission to include a reference photo of yourself that I used and will use to make a before-and-after picture. If you want, you can even choose the photo that you would want me to use. The main purpose is to show the new viewers the outcome of being ZOMBIFIED.*

This is something I plan on using for the official ZOMBIFIED site, as well.

When I begin the next series of Zombies (#'s 21-30), the prices will increase. This time, I plan on charging $10/hour based on an eight hour day.

*MINOR SPOILER ALERT* As I move forward with ZOMBIFIED, I plan on subtly creating a little story behind the Zombies and connecting them. I think this will make the ZOMBIFIED experience a little more fun and entertaining for the viewers. So if you're a fan of the project, DEFINITELY keep an eye out for those details.

ZOMBIE ANIMATION "It's Zombie Time"
A long time ago, I illustrated an image showcasing my Zombie animation idea involving four survivors (including myself along with friends who you may know) trying fight for their lives against a horde.

I was thinking about this before and I've decided that I would like to incorporate the ZOMBIFIED victims with the animation, which again I would like to have your permission to do so.

I believe that is everything that I needed to share so far. Honesty, I've said this before, but if it wasn't for ALL of you I wouldn't have been able to bring the project this far. Let alone, making a decent amount of money, which has been a great help allowing me to get by in life with all of these bills I've been struggling to pay. So again, I thank you. And PLEASE, spread the word, you guys have been doing a great job and I encourage you to keep it up. ^__^

So that's it for tonight. I thank you all for taking the time to swing by and keeping up to date with ZOMBIFIED. I'll catch you all on the flip side, Everyone have a great night!

PEACE

Freeday

Sup Dudes and Duderettes! I present to you..... (if you haven't seen it already).. Zombie #13 Jane! Hopeyoulike!

Awhile back, I've mentioned about custom designing these little toy keychains to look like your Zombie-selves or just random Zombies. And now I finally have one to use as a sample. I just really hope I can fit the detail that I want to include in them, but I'll be keeping you guys updated. I may even film the session(s) when I work on them.

And now it's time to chillax after a long week at work. I ended up passing out for a few hours earlier which I hate because then I wake up around between 3-6pm. So I'm gonna chillax and have myself a beer and possibly end the night with some illustration work.

Stay tuned and swing by my Facebook for other details! PEACE!

Pooping with my Cat

What's up Guys?! So I've been trying to keep busy and slowly dig myself out of this dark hole. Slowly but surely. I'll try to make this short, but what's been happenin is that I recent designed a heart shape cut out for work for my manager to enter in a contest. Also, there's another contest that I'm going to enter in for a music artist who goes by the name, Ozwald Bozwald. Check out his song on his website, it's called "Other Side of the Moon".For those who don't know about it, the winner gets $1000, which may be a long shot to win but I gotta try anyway. Plus, I need the money like crazy.

Also, I worked on three recent new Zombies. Here are #'s 11 and 12 and a teaser for #13.

If not this weekend, then next week I am going to work on #14. So stay tuned on my Facebook for updates on ZOMBIFIED, the details on the contest, and I will catch you all laters! PEACE!

Whataday..

Hey Guys, so today was sort of a rough day. Work was exhausting and then after paying my bank back, I practically spent the rest of my check for my sister's car. What sucked the most was getting rear ended on the way back from the bank.

So it's time to bust out some Zombies.. In case you haven't seen on Facebook, I am going to raise up the prices for ZOMBIFIED. Instead of it costing $20 per digital copy and $25 per print, it will now be $30 per digital copy and $35 per print. I tagged people from my client list to see what they had to say and I will go with the majority's decision. So far, they're giving me the green light. And I've gained a few more clients, which made me feel a lot better.

This morning, at work, I also came up with a neat idea.. At work, we sell these little toys and key chains called Doodle Budz, which you get to color and decorate yourselves. So basically, I'm going to buy a bunch of key chains and design them based off of the ZOMBIFIED Zombies! I dunno, it sounds like a good and fun idea to me. I probably won't have a prototype until a few weeks from now, but I will definitely keep you posted.

That's all I have for now, I will catch you all latas.

Waazzzaaaaaahhhhpp!!

Hey Everyone, how goes it? So far things are lookin alright on my end, the ZOMBIFIED project is moving along quite well! As I'm zombifying people, the client list continues to grow bit by bit. So that's good. I recently made a ZOMBIFIED banner featuring the first ten Zombies..

I also finished Zombie #11, which I will be posting up on my Facebook page soon. For now here's a little teaser..

I wonder who that is....... ;) Anways, August is approaching fairly quick and I remember a long time ago, I was talking about projects to include in my next demo reel. So starting August, I'm gonna get back into the grind with that, hopefully I won't have to push it back any further. With that said, this is gonna be test to see if I can even distribute my time for all these projects I have ahead of me.

That's all I got for now, I should actually be sleeping by now considering I have to be at work by 4am. So good night all, I will see ya on the flip side!

Zomday

Hey Everybody! So I've been keepin busy, as busy as possible. Mainly with ZOMBIFIED and trying to find another or better job and updating my online portfolios. I've just recently finished Zombie #9 moments ago and here it is.. Everyone, meet Kyle "Super Kyle" Ricker!

Not quite sure why, but I've put a lot of hours on this particular one or at least it feels that way because I didn't work on him for a couple of days. Where I left off, I had the basic sketch of him and then today, I worked on the detail and everything else until completion. So I hope you guys like this one.

Other than that, I updated my deviantART with the ZOMBIFIED album containing all 9 Zombies. Tomorrow, I plan on starting Zombie #10 and hopefully finishing it later that night.

Awhile back, in one of my blog entries, I may have mentioned doing a "spin off" sorta thing of ZOMBIFIED. I think I might call it "ZOMBIFIED: Survivor" or something like that until I think of a better name. =b Pretty much, anyone who has or hasn't been ZOMBIFIED and would like to illustrated as a geared up Zombie Survivor, then that's what's gonna happen. I think I'll start it if I zombify 20 people or maybe raise a fair amount of money first. We'll see...

Speaking of money, in my last blog post, I was complaining about how bad my financial situation had been and everything. I've been sorta suckin it up but I still feel bad because it definitely threw me and my brother off with rent and groceries and everything and I just feel generally bad about it. My last check came in and brought me to about -$177, which is a lot better than where it was at before. Hopefully, with this next check, it will bring me up to enough where I can split the rest with my bro and still have a little for myself. It's been a rough couple of weeks being straight up broke. I'm definitely going to avoid that if it comes up again.

On a plus side, I found a job offer on Craigslist from Dah Entertainment Inc and luckily, they responded to my email. We both agreed that this project is right up my alley. Basically, they need a 2d animator to animate about a 1.5 - 2 minutes fight scene along with some character designs for their website and to promote their Kickstarter campaign. They need the video done by the end of August and they sent me a script. My only concern is the communication isn't as frequent as I was hoping, but I'll just grab their attention with some results or something. And although, I do not know how much I will be paid, but I will get half in the beginning and then the rest when I finish.

So that's pretty much all I got going for me, right now. I hope Everyone is doing well and uhh.... I guess that's it for now. Don't forget to stay tuned to my deviantART, Facebook, and my Behance Network page as I will be updating them as frequent as possible.

Catch you All on the flip side, PEACE!!!

I think I might make a banner of the first 10, hmmm...

Tag, They're DEAD

Hey Guys, so today was pretty much a bad day. Long story short, I over drafted in my bank account, thinking it was only by $9 until I find out it was actually over $400 because I forgot to cancel a loan payment. So because it went through on Sunday, I've been getting over draft fees since then. So I have about a week to bring the negatives to at least 0 before I get an additional fee and eventually lose my account. And my only option is to let the bank take my entire check, which I'm sure I'll still be short some money...

Which brings me to this, as much as I love all you guys, I really CANNOT do any free zombifications. I need to be able sell the copies. And since you guys have been doing such a great job spreading the word and everything, I really need you to continue spreading the word. As far as I know, I'm gonna be broke for about 3 weeks unless I make some sales.

So far, there are 8 zombies (#8 being a double feature)

(From left to right) Leeny Coronel, Vanessa Fernandez, Will Rivera, Jeni Mastrangelo, Teresa Igler, Tyron Hatcher, Lisa Millan, Gianessa and Zayda Fernandez

So PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE continue to tell your friends and families about me, if anyone has questions about ZOMBIFIED, just visit my Facebook page and you'll find the details in the ZOMBIFIED album.

Thanks for taking the time to swing by my blogspot, I will be starting Zombie #9 on Monday, so stay tuned for updates on that. See ya laterz!

Thirstday

Hey Guys! I know, long time, no blog. But I do have something new, in case many of you haven't seen on my Facebook page. I have a new zombie, meet Teresa Igler!

#5
So I've been busy during the past couple of weeks. As many of you may know, I had recently moved out of my hometown with my bro and nephew. We're, now, living in Newark (3 blocks outside of Bloomfield) on the "doorstep of the ghetto". Lol But the place is nice and cheap. I have a lot of plans and projects that need to move along and after settling down here, I sorta went on an unexpected break or "hiatus" for awhile but I feel I am getting back on track hence, Zombie #5.

I've also been thinking a lot because now that I'm at my new home and having to actually pay rent, I'm in dire need of another or better job. Awhile ago, in one of the previous blogs, I expressed how serious I was about this project and how I wanted to treat it like a job. I've debated against myself and asked others about how I should approach the cost of a print, being if the customer wanted one. I went from charging $2 to $25. Reason being, simply because I do put a fair amount of hours into it whether or not the person wanted to pay for a print. I love posting and sharing the process and final results of my work online, which then makes it easy for the customer to just right click and "Save Image As" or whatever.

Which nowww, leads me to thinking of doing this; I'm going to ask every person on my list if they plan on buying a print (I can work on a deal if not for $25) and for any future customers, I will post and/or print the illustration for $25, plain and simple. Makes sense in my head =b This is just so I am actually being paid for the time and energy that I put into this project because I really do need the money. Right now, every paycheck I get, I split it for rent and necessities/groceries. I will never have enough to pay my loans, which is really bad.

With that being said, I really hope you guys understand how and why I'm charging that way. I tried to explain it as laid back as possible, but I sound like a dick when I read it to myself. Lol I really can't express how happy I am just with the love and support I'm already getting with the 5 zombies I've posted online. It's gonna be awhile until I post another one just so I can get a feel of how the future zombies will sell.

Oh and before I end this, because of the fact that some of my customers are fairly distant, I do have a PayPal account. So if you got one, we can definitely work something out, if not? Then, I'll meet you half way. Lol

So that concludes my blog for tonight, thank you for your time and I hope to hear from you guys soon! PEACE!!!

Monday-Case CLOSED

Hey Guys! In case you haven't noticed on my Facebook page, I had to make a price change for the Zombie prints. I started off super cheap ($2), but now I actually need to factor in the time I put into the work and everything. As I've mentioned in one of my recent blogs, you can obviously save yourself a copy once I post up the image, but if you want a print, it's now going to cost $25.

At first, this project was meant to help make some pocket money while I search for a second part-time job or just a better job overall. But NEVER did I think I would end up with a list of 19 people who want to be ZOMBIFIED. And I'm so grateful to have that many people interested. So, for right now, I'm sorta taking this project as a second job if I can manage to sell enough prints. So PLEASE, please spread the word. If you have children or pets that you would want me to Zombify for laughs, I will gladly make it happen for you.

Today, my brother and I checked out a place in Bloomfield Ave. which turned out to be a nice place for cheap and we plan on moving in there very soon within a few days. So now that I'll be renting, raising money from selling Zombie prints would definitely help me out. So, again I ask, PLEASE SPREAD THE WORD FOR ME!! I SHALL LOVE YOU FO EVA!!! Lol ^__^

So that's all I have to share with ya. For these next few days, I'm pretty much going to be packing up and then moving. The faster I settle in, the sooner I will be able to continue the ZOMBIFIED project and other projects I plan on working on so I can put together a new demo reel. I'm hoping by next week, I've be able to get back in motion.

So that's it for now, I will catch you all lata! PEACE!!

Bring the Rain

Hey Everybody! I just wanna start off by saying THANK YOU to Everyone who's visited and Liked my Facebook page (Gerald N. Terado)!!! I honestly wasn't so sure how this was going to play out, but it's definitely more than I had expected. So THANK YOU for that!

Last night, I was doing a count from my ZOMBIFIED list and I had about 9 people to go. Today?.. There are 15 now (19 altogether). I didn't think I was gonna have that many after about 5 days. Lol But I am very pleased with where this is going so far. I check my Facebook insights pretty much obsessively, just checking the charts, the virality, how many people have seen it, all that good stuff. And just for the record, I have ALWAYS been into Zombies, always, which is why I think this whole Zombie thing that's going on is funny because it's so convenient right now. Who wouldn't wanna see themselves as a Zombie?

Well, there are a few out there so far...

I actually have some friends that refuse to be ZOMBIFIED because we're just so into the idea of being the Survivor and killing Zombies. Even, I debate against myself if I want to Zombify myself. Lol So because of that, I'm thinking (not quite sure yet) about doing a spin off sort of deal off of ZOMBIFIED and do a Survivor version. Maybe call it "Survivor/Slayers" or something like that. (I'll probably use that anyway) But for now, it's a thought.

I've been thinking a lot about scheduling who and how many zombies to illustrate on what day. For those 15 Zombies, I do need to get some references for each customer. And as of right now, I do feel confident that I can get at least 2 Zombies done each on Friday and Saturday and whatever other days I'd have off. I could get a Zombie done each day BUT I do factor in the chances in taking naps after work because sometimes I nap longer than I want to and then I don't start working until evening like 7ish. So we'll see how this week goes, I'm gonna try and feel it out and see if I could get one done each day or every other day. Right now, this is what my work schedule looks like for this weekend..

Monday (6/4) 3am-11am
Tuesday (6/5) 3am-11am
Wednesday (6/6) OFF
Thursday (6/7) 3am-10:30am
Friday (6/8) 3am-8am

saTURDay

Hey Guys! So there may be a chance the ZOMBIFIED project is going to run a little bit slower. The reason being, my parents are moving back to the Philippines 6 days from now and I don't necessarily know how much longer my brother and I have to find and move into a new place after that. We checked out a place in Weehawken, NJ yesterday and it was nice. I just don't know if we got the green light yet. So there's that and I haven't even started packing yet and there's still quite a bit to do around the rest of the house so I feel it's gonna be a busy week.

This Summer, I really want to start animating again and start working on my new demo reel. And I feel once I'm settled in a new home, I can really just focus on that and my job and just save up. I just really hope that works out.

Today has just been a chill/relaxing day for me. I really didn't get a lot of sleep the past two days. On Wednesday night, I pulled an all nighter until I had to go to work at 3am to 10:30am.

Thursday: It was payday and EVERY payday my friend Joe and I go to Zapp Comics after work. By the time I got home, it was noon. It wasn't until about 2:30 I passed out until around 3. Then I had to show my paps how to download/install iTune's onto his computer, rip cd's onto it, how to sync music to his new iPod Touch, how to navigate in it and ALL. THAT. GOOD. JAZZ. (He's old school) After that demo, I had to do laundry with my bro. I didn't get to work on my next zombie until around 11 and by 1 or.

#4

Friday: I had work from 5am to 10am. Then after work, that's when my brother and I checked out that place in Weehawken. At noon we got there and didn't get back until 2ish. Then I had to get ready, went to the mall with Vanessa til we had to meet with Tombo, Deivy, and Noel to go to our friend's (Elaine "Elmo" Morales) birthday party in Princeton, NJ. It was really fun, I got to reunite with some of my Philly friends and I got pretty fucked up. Lol We didn't get back in town until 2am or something like that. And then, I finally passed out around 3 or 4.

Left to Right: Noel, Kieran, Abner, myself, Elaine, and Will

The funny thing is, this morning, I woke around 6am and I was probably up for like 2 or 3 hours. Lol And that's when I started sleeping in 30min-1hour increments.

So that was the action from Thursday until now. I was just gonna post a short little update on Facebook but then it started to become longer as I was typing it. So I said, "Screw it, I'll just post a blog." And hither it is.

Stay tuned to my Facebook page, Gerald N. Terado, I may continue to work on my zombie shortly. Catch you guys later, PEACE!

BRRRRAAAAAIIIIIIIINNNSS!!!

Hey Everybody! So this week's been quite awesome! My gf went away to visit our friends in North Carolina, when she'll be back? No idea. But her absence has resulted me in having an awesome and productive week for my ZOMBIFIED project!

On Sunday, it was a little slow, but I had started a very rough sketch of my friend Leeny which then on Monday I had added more detail to the sketch. By Tuesday, I was able to finish the picture completely and moved on to the next zombification on another friend, Vanessa. Surprisingly and excitingly that day, I was able to complete her image from start to finish. And then, yesterday, I worked on another one of my friend Will, completed that same night again from start to finish. As soon as I had posted them up on my Facebook, a lot of people were diggin it, which made me very happy and excited to do more. So far, I still have 7 more people to zombify. So I'm thinking, without any interference, I should be able to get at least 2 zombies done each day.

So here are the 3 that I've done this week...

I feel they will only get better and better the more I do. Not sure on who, but at some point I will be drawing others with missing limbs and maybe crawling with a reaching arm.

If you haven't liked my Facebook page, definitely do it ASAP. I post most of my recent updates on there and then I do an overall recap of the week here in my blogspot. So if you're interested, just check out Gerald N. Terado on Facebook.

I really hope this project continues to go viral because this has been a project that I've been thinking about and have been wanting to do for quite some time. Am I obsessed with Zombies? Most definitely. And like I've said a million times, if you are interested and would like to be ZOMBIFIED just say the word and I will gladly add you to the list. Now there is a bit of a wait due to the others. I pretty much go by the "first come, first serve" process when zombifying (I really like using that word lol). And obviously, you can just save a copy of the illustration once I post it up, but if you were to want a print delivered by yours truly, it will only cost you $2. Why only $2? I've always been really bad at pricing my work and sometimes I never really think about how much time was spent on the project, either. But I figured, since you'd have to wait, I would just do it for cheap (practically free if you print it yourself lol).

So that's all I have for you today, I do plan on working on another zombie tonight. It's probably gonna have a slow start being the fact that I pulled an all nighter last night until I had to go to work at 3am to 10:30am. I've only napped for about an hour and then mostly lounged around and relaxed up until this point. So we'll see how things kick in. So DON'T FORGET TO VISIT MY FACEBOOK PAGE!! ^__^

Peace!

Tuesday Terrestrial

Hey Guys! So I've been having this productive flow going the past few days. And now that I've made another FB page strictly for my work, I've been updating and keeping track on that more than my blog. So bare with me, soon I'll have all this on lock down.

If you've been or "Liked" my page, you may have seen the latest work I did. One is of a female pastry chef and another (who I've met on FB) who had been "zombified". And before that, I believe I posted the character designs I made for my partners children's book "The Fruitgetectives".

Here are the latest two that I had done..

I'm actually doing another chef design very soon so stay tuned for that. If you haven't already, definitely check out my FB for other and older work at GeraldNTerado.

That's all I got for now, but definitely stay tuned for more updates! See ya on the flip side!

Ohhhh TGIF

Hey Guys! I hope Everyone's doing well on their end. I've got a few little updates on what's going on..

I've recently finalized the characters for a partner's kids book "Fruitgetectives".... It took a lot more work than I thought and I forgot there were about 13 characters. And I believe I'll be getting paid shortly, which I was sorta surprised because majority of the partners I've worked with were for free. So it's nice. Unfortunately, I had to tell him that I wasn't going to be able to complete the artwork for the book in the deadline he wanted and the book is about 100+ pages. I thought that was kinda long for a kids book, but realistically, I need some time for my other projects, for my upcoming demo reel and finding a new place. Honestly, I have no idea when we have to move, which is what happens when you're so laid back. Lol But we had an understanding, as long as I finished the characters. I believe he found a new artist for the Summer.

So now, that's finally out of the way, I can continue to focus on finishing the Alic Practice picture and continue to work on my ZOMBIFY project. I haven't been trying lately, but I did manage to come up with a decent list of requests from friends. And I'm actually trying to test myself and work on more female drawings just because I feel I don't have enough of them in my collection of drawings. So that's that.

As for Blazer Show, we (Jess, Noel, Kameele, and Jack) are going to do a script reading tomorrow afternoon to test out our characters for our dialogue. This should be fun and I can't wait.

I believe that's all I got for now. I actually have to get ready to drop my bro somewhere and then take my friend to see The Avengers for his first time. (my third time lol) Maybe I'll do another short blog post when I get home. So until then, peace out. Enjoy your Friday night!

First Custy for the ZOMBIFICATIIIOOOON!

That's right, although, Alice Practice's picture is indeed the prototype, my first zombification will involve a friend, Leeny (Filipinos REPRESENT lol).

In case some of you still don't know, when i "zombify" you, it's just when I draw a zombie caricature of you and sell you a print standard size of 8.5x11 (if you have a preferred size, just let me know) for $2. So, basically, I'd be charging you $1 for the picture and $1 for the print. Not bad, right?

Now since, Leeny's my first "client", she gets an additional caricature. This one being more on the nicer side.

"Why Zombify?" you may ask, oh you know, just to feed into my Zombie obsession. ^__^

I'll catch you guys later with more updates! PEACE!

It's A Wet Wednesday

Good morning, Friends! Not only has it been awhile, but it does feel a bit odd posting a blog at this early hour. Early for me, at least =b But it has indeed been awhile, so here's a recap of what I've been up to, nothing too fancy or out of the ordinary.

But, lately, I've been working heavily on my friend's band's zombie "portrait" which is coming out really well. What's left to be done is some shading and blood detail and then the entire background. I will show you where I left off in just a moment.

I've also been working on character designs for a kids book, which are coming out well, my only thing is some of them seem or look a bit too... detailed for a kid's character? The creator likes them so far, so I'm sorta just going with it to see the direction it follows.

Blazer Show is moving along well, we recently did a script read for the first half to finalize the dialogue and scene descriptions. The second half is fine the way it is, in my opinion, but we'll see when we move forward. As far as characters go, I really would like to find or schedule a time where I can sit and work on the villain and the character bibles, but with all these little side projects, I really don't know what to do first. I'll figure it out though sooner or later.

Unfortunately for the studio, Crunchy Cloud Studios had to be put under temporary hiatus. While Blazer Show was keeping productivity, CCS: One Epic Artist was remaining offtrack with minor improvements, but that's because of a lot reasons which some were understandable. So to make things easier, I'm going to continue One Epic Artist along with Kameele, who is doing the background designs for it.

So that's pretty much the update with most of the projects. I'm really hoping by this summer, I'll be animating because there are other animation projects that want to work on this summer that I didn't mention up there so yeah, it's gonna be a busy summer for sure.

With all that said, here is the update on the Alice Practice zombie picture...

Left to Right: Tyler, John, Anthony, Dylan, and Lee
Oh yeah, one last thing. Awhile ago, I've mentioned this other project I was considering starting and it was a simple idea to "zombify" friends and family. And I was thinking maybe charging a dollar or two for a print of your zombified self. But anyway, this is practically the prototype for it. So if you dig it and you would like one of yourself, just contact me and let me know! Otherwise, I'll probably just pull out random names and work on them. ^__^

That's the update! I'll catch you all on the flip side! PEACE!

Friday So FRESH

Hey Guys! So I've had an interesting couple of days ending tonight with a major breakthrough. First, on Wednesday night, I underwent a back injury that was actually caused by a minor movement (lol). Not only did it cause me to drop to the ground, but it also caused me to lose 15.5 hours at work. And I need every hour I can get. BUT now my back is actually recovering quite well and I hope it continues to.

So I'm sure most of you know by now, I am working on a project with whom you know, Jess "Rambo" Ramsey, called Blazer Show. This idea was born in 2008 and after 4 years, we have finally completed the main cast's finalization thanks to Kameele Rivera and her talents. Finalized to the characters' design to their color.

So ladies and gentlemen, I present to you, the Blazer Show!

Left to Right: Vinny, Kristie, Noel, G, Jess, and Nosey

I think it's safe to say that some of our future goals are to complete all the character bibles, beginning storyboard process, and to come up with an opening (intro) idea for the show. And I must say, I am very excited about this even slowly coming together. You can find us on Facebook, so don't be shy to say hello. =)

An Idea Lit Like A Candle

Hello Friends! So for a day or two, I came up with this fun little idea and then thought of another idea similar to the first. The first idea was to have friends or family take and send a casual self portrait of yourself and I would basically "zombify" you in the style I drew the "It's Zombie Time" picture.. Sounds fun right? And then, another idea similar to that would be to take a photo of whomever and turn one half of or the entire person into a cartoon.

If anything, I'll probably do both, I feel it would be a fun project and it could help me improve my "style". So if there's any takers, you can just email any picture that you would prefer to be used as a reference or unless you don't care and I can just pick one myself from your Facebook page cuz you know, that's totally not creepy at all, right? Lol So yeah, if you wanna send any pics, send them to gterado@yahoo.com.

That's all I got for now, I figured I'd announce my new project ideas to you guys before I forget them. =b I'll catch you all on the flip side, Peace!

Change is Near but Stress is Here

Trying to stay positive is all I can do. Soon enough my family and I will have to vacate this house that I very much grew up in. My brother and I are in search for apartments relatively nearby with one potential place (as far as I know) that may accept us. But who knows.

Obviously, I am still working on portfolio material while I am searching for a 2nd part time job or even a better paying part time or full time job. And just when I thought things were stressful enough, my truck breaks down with a result of a thousand dollar bill. Every time I think about my situation, my stress level continues to rise which, embarrassingly, makes me wanna run to my girlfriend for emotional support like a troubled little boy running to his mommy.

The only good news I can think of is that I'm still alive, I'm still with my girlfriend, my bro and I ARE getting our truck back, and I gained 8 more hours to my work schedule at Michaels.

I practically spent my evening today job hunting, updating my account on those job sites, sent out resumes and links to my online portfolio, and I even posted up an ad on Craigslist.

It's moments like this that make me think that I have failed myself. And the only way I could prove myself wrong is by continuing to keep trying. Hopefully, things WILL get better soon to the point where I can sit at my "new" home and work on all my projects with a stress free mind set.

That's all I got to say for tonight, I hope all is well for Everyone else. Good night.

The Time Has Come...

Hey Guys! Right, right, I know, I know it's been a long time. But I did say the next blog post would have the end result of an illustration. And it is done. I have to say, it was really hard not to post up other progressions because the more that was done, the better it was looking and the more excited I was becoming. And I know my fellow zombie killin brethren were fairly stoked about how it was coming out.

So here it is everybody and I hope you all will like it..

So there ya have it, and again I really hope you guys dig it. I worked really hard for this idea to come out cuz believe it or not, I've been wanting to draw this out for quite awhile now and it's finally done. Lol And also, just last night, I finally took the opportunity to sketch out these 3 concepts of a friend's character. I, basically redrew his character in different poses, tried to show a little more attitude and stuff through his poses and he said he liked them so that's good to hear.

Here are the sketches I did to the left of the original..

So that's all I have for you guys. These next couple of weeks are gonna be busy and rough, due to the fact that me and my family have to vacate the house by April 1st, I think. And my bro and I are still lookin for a place and yeah. It's rough. But I gotta keep busy and keep my head up, right? So that's what I'm gonna do. I'll catch you all later with some more stuff. Peace!

A Working Wednesday

Hey Everyone! Man, today has been really productive. I practically spent all day working on the zombie picture. Unfortunately, it's still not done, but I still got a lot done. My fingers are killing me. This shall be the last update of this illustration that I'm going to show, my next post shall present the end result. So here it is...

"It's Zombie Time"
So as you see, Pat is the last person I need to color in. I'm debating whether I wanna give this an actual background or just give it a shadowy/hazy back drop... knowing me, I'm probably gonna give it a background. And considering what's left to be done, I'm probably not going to be able to show it on Friday, but at least it'll be done.

ALSO

We're no longer attending the First Friday event due to some circumstances and other financial reasons, so instead we're just gonna kick it in Princeton, lay out our work and just chill and see if it catches any eyes.

That's all I have for you now, and like I said, my fingers are killin meh! So I'm gonna go and try to pass out for my 3am shift tomorrow. ^__^ Catch you all on the flip side!

Mellow Monday

Hey Guys! So I managed to get some work done. Although, I didn't get as much done as I was hoping. I should've realized after having my overnight shift last night, I was going to be pretty damn tired. I didn't get home until around 5:30am and couldn't fall asleep until around 7:30, which is the usual case. But after waking up from my nap, I was still extremely tired and exhausted and continue to fall in and out of sleep throughout the afternoon and even after that, I continued to just relax.

Luckily, I still got stuff done. The countdown continues so I really want to get this picture done so I can share it with everyone on Friday. So this is what I have done, I got to outline Deivy and color him in, I just need to add in some shading and gunfire from his shotgun. And then tomorrow, I think I'm going to just outline everyone else and then I'll start filling them in. Time is running out so I'm really going to have to hustle up and get this done.

So here it is once again...

"It's Zombie Time"
I hope you guys are liking what you see and I'll have more for ya tomorrow! Peace!

SHATTERday Pt.2

Hello, hello again! I got a couple of updates for ya! EVERYONE is now drawn out for the zombie movie poster and it's only looking better. I also worked on the Ninja Mom movie poster some more and that one's looking pretty good too. I've decided to take another break because my thumb is beginning to hurt, I tend to kung fu grip my pen and the deeper into the picture I get, the tighter I squeeze. (That's what she said) Lol So yeah, I'm sorta debating if I wanna try to finish it tonight or tomorrow afternoon. I figured if I get that one out of the way, I could really focus on the other picture which has a lot more detail in it.

Tomorrow's a busy day though cuz I got work at 7am to 11am and then later that night, I am working an overnight shift from 9pm to 5am. So who knows if I'll feel like working on anything before that night shift. Technically, I only have about 3 days left to get these done, which leaves me Thursday to go out and make prints of my work. I really hope I'll have enough money for the prints, otherwise, I don't even know..

But here's what I got so far, I hope you guys are enjoying the progress! I'll catch you either on Monday or maybe Tuesday!

"It's Zombie Time"

"Ninja Mom"

SHATTERday Pt.1

Why hello there FOLKS! I know I was suppose to have my work in progress posted up on Thursday, but I was just waaayyyy too beat to continue the work. I ended up not sleeping Wednesday night when I had work the following morning (Thursday) at 3. Lol So I practically just lounged around all day. And then Friday was my day off and lets just say I spent it like a day off and I know there's still so much to do sooo, DERP! But anyhow, I did manage to get some ish done today, I've been continuing the zombie movie poster because mainly it's one of the most detailed pictures I'm working on along with my friend's band Alice Practice, which is another zombie piece.

Here it is, so far I think it's lookin pretty badass and I hope all of you will agree...

It's Zombie Time: Deivy, Pat, and myself
The last person I have to add is Tombo, I believe I'm going to have him firing an M16. One of the biggest challenges with this illustration is drawing the guns mainly because I usually don't draw firearms that often. I, especially, had trouble with the AK47 that I'm holding in the picture (it may be hard to tell right now). Above the group, it will have our names listed along with the title and along the right side I'm going to draw in a bunch of zombie arms and hands reaching towards the group.

I can't wait til it's finished, I'm excited and also worried that it may not be ready by First Friday. Right now, I'm looking at 3 new pieces to show along with my older work at the event, but realistically I only see 2 of them being shown that night. We'll see though.

Well, that's all I have right now. I'm going to finish my little break with a cig and then back to work. I'll catch you all lata!

To Be Continued...

A Day Off Semi-Well Spent

Hey Guys! So today, was an alright day off. I started off waking up kinda early, around 10. Did my usual morning chores but then I ended up falling back asleep. And then woke up again, and then back to sleep and on and off and so on. Until around 1, I actually woke up and got out of bed. Then I had to speak with my bank and Wells Fargo and found out most of my paycheck will be going to them, once again. After that, I did some more lounging around, jammed out for a little bit on the ol' gheetar.

I did manage to do some work on the zombie movie poster, which is called "It's Zombie Time". As you'll see, I drew in my friend Deivy. Hopefully, tomorrow I will have two more or all of us drawn in. Maybe even outlined. I also plan on working on the Ninja Mom movie poster. If I'm lucky I may be able to finish it, it's a lot more simpler than the other two that I'm working on.

But here's what I've done today, I hope you'll like it...

It's Zombie Time: Deivy
That's all I got for now, I plan on posting more tomorrow. Peace!

Coming Soon...

Hello Friends!! It has been quite some time since my previous blog. I've been pretty busy and exhausted from work. But anyway, sorry if I've been antisocial, First Friday is coming up in less than 10 days. March 2nd is when we're heading to Old City in Philadelphia to participate in the city event when and where artists of all kinds come out on the streets and present artwork and you can also visit galleries as well. It'll be a fun time and a new experience. It'll also be our somewhat debut for our studio, just to start getting the name out and stuff. So at the bottom I have a few new sketches that I'm working on, two are for my zombie animation that I'm reworking and a new Ninja Mom scene. Also, I've decided to rework my friend's band's picture, as well. I plan on having the new Ninja Mom and the zombie animations done by this summer.

So here are the rough sketches, I hope you guys like them so far...

"It's Zombie Time"
"Ninja Mom"
"Alice Practice"
That's all I have for now. If you're interested in the First Friday event it's on March 2nd from 5pm-9pm, you can find us posted near a comic book shop on 2nd and Arch St. I believe. If you have any questions just hit me up!

See you all on the flip side!
