Thirstday

Hey Guys! I know, long time, no blog. But I do have something new, in case many of you haven't seen on my Facebook page. I have a new zombie, meet Teresa Igler!

#5
So I've been busy during the past couple of weeks. As many of you may know, I had recently moved out of my hometown with my bro and nephew. We're, now, living in Newark (3 blocks outside of Bloomfield) on the "doorstep of the ghetto". Lol But the place is nice and cheap. I have a lot of plans and projects that need to move along and after settling down here, I sorta went on an unexpected break or "hiatus" for awhile but I feel I am getting back on track hence, Zombie #5.

I've also been thinking a lot because now that I'm at my new home and having to actually pay rent, I'm in dire need of another or better job. Awhile ago, in one of the previous blogs, I expressed how serious I was about this project and how I wanted to treat it like a job. I've debated against myself and asked others about how I should approach the cost of a print, being if the customer wanted one. I went from charging $2 to $25. Reason being, simply because I do put a fair amount of hours into it whether or not the person wanted to pay for a print. I love posting and sharing the process and final results of my work online, which then makes it easy for the customer to just right click and "Save Image As" or whatever.

Which nowww, leads me to thinking of doing this; I'm going to ask every person on my list if they plan on buying a print (I can work on a deal if not for $25) and for any future customers, I will post and/or print the illustration for $25, plain and simple. Makes sense in my head =b This is just so I am actually being paid for the time and energy that I put into this project because I really do need the money. Right now, every paycheck I get, I split it for rent and necessities/groceries. I will never have enough to pay my loans, which is really bad.

With that being said, I really hope you guys understand how and why I'm charging that way. I tried to explain it as laid back as possible, but I sound like a dick when I read it to myself. Lol I really can't express how happy I am just with the love and support I'm already getting with the 5 zombies I've posted online. It's gonna be awhile until I post another one just so I can get a feel of how the future zombies will sell.

Oh and before I end this, because of the fact that some of my customers are fairly distant, I do have a PayPal account. So if you got one, we can definitely work something out, if not? Then, I'll meet you half way. Lol

So that concludes my blog for tonight, thank you for your time and I hope to hear from you guys soon! PEACE!!!

Monday-Case CLOSED

Hey Guys! In case you haven't noticed on my Facebook page, I had to make a price change for the Zombie prints. I started off super cheap ($2), but now I actually need to factor in the time I put into the work and everything. As I've mentioned in one of my recent blogs, you can obviously save yourself a copy once I post up the image, but if you want a print, it's now going to cost $25.

At first, this project was meant to help make some pocket money while I search for a second part-time job or just a better job overall. But NEVER did I think I would end up with a list of 19 people who want to be ZOMBIFIED. And I'm so grateful to have that many people interested. So, for right now, I'm sorta taking this project as a second job if I can manage to sell enough prints. So PLEASE, please spread the word. If you have children or pets that you would want me to Zombify for laughs, I will gladly make it happen for you.

Today, my brother and I checked out a place in Bloomfield Ave. which turned out to be a nice place for cheap and we plan on moving in there very soon within a few days. So now that I'll be renting, raising money from selling Zombie prints would definitely help me out. So, again I ask, PLEASE SPREAD THE WORD FOR ME!! I SHALL LOVE YOU FO EVA!!! Lol ^__^

So that's all I have to share with ya. For these next few days, I'm pretty much going to be packing up and then moving. The faster I settle in, the sooner I will be able to continue the ZOMBIFIED project and other projects I plan on working on so I can put together a new demo reel. I'm hoping by next week, I've be able to get back in motion.

So that's it for now, I will catch you all lata! PEACE!!

Bring the Rain

Hey Everybody! I just wanna start off by saying THANK YOU to Everyone who's visited and Liked my Facebook page (Gerald N. Terado)!!! I honestly wasn't so sure how this was going to play out, but it's definitely more than I had expected. So THANK YOU for that!

Last night, I was doing a count from my ZOMBIFIED list and I had about 9 people to go. Today?.. There are 15 now (19 altogether). I didn't think I was gonna have that many after about 5 days. Lol But I am very pleased with where this is going so far. I check my Facebook insights pretty much obsessively, just checking the charts, the virality, how many people have seen it, all that good stuff. And just for the record, I have ALWAYS been into Zombies, always, which is why I think this whole Zombie thing that's going on is funny because it's so convenient right now. Who wouldn't wanna see themselves as a Zombie?

Well, there are a few out there so far...

I actually have some friends that refuse to be ZOMBIFIED because we're just so into the idea of being the Survivor and killing Zombies. Even, I debate against myself if I want to Zombify myself. Lol So because of that, I'm thinking (not quite sure yet) about doing a spin off sort of deal off of ZOMBIFIED and do a Survivor version. Maybe call it "Survivor/Slayers" or something like that. (I'll probably use that anyway) But for now, it's a thought.

I've been thinking a lot about scheduling who and how many zombies to illustrate on what day. For those 15 Zombies, I do need to get some references for each customer. And as of right now, I do feel confident that I can get at least 2 Zombies done each on Friday and Saturday and whatever other days I'd have off. I could get a Zombie done each day BUT I do factor in the chances in taking naps after work because sometimes I nap longer than I want to and then I don't start working until evening like 7ish. So we'll see how this week goes, I'm gonna try and feel it out and see if I could get one done each day or every other day. Right now, this is what my work schedule looks like for this weekend..

Monday (6/4) 3am-11am
Tuesday (6/5) 3am-11am
Wednesday (6/6) OFF
Thursday (6/7) 3am-10:30am
Friday (6/8) 3am-8am
Saturday (6/9) OFF

My Thursdays, Fridays, and Sundays are consistent every week.

So that's all I have for ya right now, there's still so much of the day left, I may get started on the next Zombie so swing by my Facebook page in case I do!

In case you haven't seen any of the Zombies, here are the first 4 completed...

Catch ya on the flip side! PEACE!!

saTURDay

Hey Guys! So there may be a chance the ZOMBIFIED project is going to run a little bit slower. The reason being, my parents are moving back to the Philippines 6 days from now and I don't necessarily know how much longer my brother and I have to find and move into a new place after that. We checked out a place in Weehawken, NJ yesterday and it was nice. I just don't know if we got the green light yet. So there's that and I haven't even started packing yet and there's still quite a bit to do around the rest of the house so I feel it's gonna be a busy week.

This Summer, I really want to start animating again and start working on my new demo reel. And I feel once I'm settled in a new home, I can really just focus on that and my job and just save up. I just really hope that works out.

Today has just been a chill/relaxing day for me. I really didn't get a lot of sleep the past two days. On Wednesday night, I pulled an all nighter until I had to go to work at 3am to 10:30am.

Thursday: It was payday and EVERY payday my friend Joe and I go to Zapp Comics after work. By the time I got home, it was noon. It wasn't until about 2:30 I passed out until around 3. Then I had to show my paps how to download/install iTune's onto his computer, rip cd's onto it, how to sync music to his new iPod Touch, how to navigate in it and ALL. THAT. GOOD. JAZZ. (He's old school) After that demo, I had to do laundry with my bro. I didn't get to work on my next zombie until around 11 and by 1 or.

#4

Friday: I had work from 5am to 10am. Then after work, that's when my brother and I checked out that place in Weehawken. At noon we got there and didn't get back until 2ish. Then I had to get ready, went to the mall with Vanessa til we had to meet with Tombo, Deivy, and Noel to go to our friend's (Elaine "Elmo" Morales) birthday party in Princeton, NJ. It was really fun, I got to reunite with some of my Philly friends and I got pretty fucked up. Lol We didn't get back in town until 2am or something like that. And then, I finally passed out around 3 or 4.

Left to Right: Noel, Kieran, Abner, myself, Elaine, and Will

The funny thing is, this morning, I woke around 6am and I was probably up for like 2 or 3 hours. Lol And that's when I started sleeping in 30min-1hour increments.

So that was the action from Thursday until now. I was just gonna post a short little update on Facebook but then it started to become longer as I was typing it. So I said, "Screw it, I'll just post a blog." And hither it is.

Stay tuned to my Facebook page, Gerald N. Terado, I may continue to work on my zombie shortly. Catch you guys later, PEACE!
